The special session of the Delhi Assembly was extended by a day for the third time today to discuss Lt Governor Anil Baijal's communication to the central government seeking withdrawal of powers of House committees.

Speaker Ram Niwas Goel had to extend the session for the second time yesterday after ruling Aam Aadmi Party lawmakers created a ruckus in the House demanding a discussion over a website report against BJP chief Amit Shah's son.

The report claimed that the fortunes of a company owned by Shah's son soared after the BJP came to power in 2014.

Today's session saw a detailed discussion on the Metro fare hike. BJP and AAP legislators, however, accused the other of benefiting private cab operators through the fare hike.

The session started late by around half an hour as the quorum was not complete.

Tomorrow, the Speaker will read out Lt Governor Baijal's communication to the Centre seeking to withdraw the powers of department-related standing committees (DRSC) of the House.
