With an eye on the Delhi Assembly elections, the state unit of the BJP has asked its women cell to enrol over ten thousand housewives in each district in the national capital.

The party's minority cell has also set a target of enrolling one lakh Muslim members in the ongoing membership drive, a senior BJP leader said.

"Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay has asked the party's women cell to make ten thousand housewives join the saffron party in each district which will help us ensure victory in the forthcoming Assembly polls," he said, adding that the party was committed to ensure empowerment, respect and security to women.

The party has also asked its minority cell to enrol one lakh members from the minority community.

"Enrolling one lakh such members will be an inspiration for the whole party. The total number of members in Delhi has touched 11.34 lakh so far," he added.

Minority Morcha President Atif Rasheed has directed the party workers to make the "Delhi Vijay Campaign" successful by working day and night for the next two months.
