Delhi BJP celebrate Pandit Upadhyay's anniversary

Delhi BJP leaders and workers today celebrated the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay by donating blood for the Armed forces.

According to the BJP, party workers donated 1830 units of blood at a blood donation camp organised at Thyagraj Stadium here.

The party also claimed that 890 people also filled up eye donation pledge form during the programme.

BJP senior leaders, Lal Krishna Advani, Rajnath Singh, M. Venkaiah Naidu, Harsh Vardhan, Jitender Singh and Prabhat Jha also participated in the programme and encouraged workers towards blood donation.

"1830 units of blood have been collected during blood donation camp. This blood will be given to our Army and Armed forces. Besides, 890 people also filled up eye donation pledge form," Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said.
 

Delhi BJP's statement also quoted Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh as saying, "The purpose of integral humanism of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay was to provide the benefits of development unto the last man standing in the queue and service of humanity was also part of his thinking."

Upadhyay said that Jitender Singh and Ramesh Bidhuri also pledged for eye donation during the programme.

Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said that party's state unit has paid due respect to Deen Dayal Upadhyay by organizing blood donation camp dedicated to the army and armed forces on the occasion of his birthday.

Delhi BJP's statement also quoted Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan as saying, "Blood Donation and Organ Donation are very important in human life because only a human being can donate his blood or organ to another human being.
