Delhi BJP's 'Khel Delhi Khel' tournament begins

Delhi BJP today launched its sports initiative 'Khel Delhi Khel' at JLN mini stadium here to connect with the youth in the city before MCD elections.

Inaugurating the tournament, Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel assured all help to the sports persons.

"I congratulate Delhi BJP for taking the lead to organise 'Khel Delhi Khel' tournament. Wherever need be we will allow youth of Delhi to use government sports infrastructure. As a sports minister I assure sportsmen of all support and my doors are open for you," Goel said

Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari, a famous singer, joined Goel in singing theme song of the tournament 'Ek mauka de do, hum mauke par chauka laga denge, jo saamne baitha usko chonka denge."
 

Tiwari said he understood importance of sports in character building as a student of Physical Education and planned the tournament to provide an opportunity to youth of the "underprivileged sections" to showcase their talents.

The tournament include kabaddi, kho kho, basketball volleyball, bodybuilding and football.

It was advertised in all the 7 Delhi Parliamentary constituencies to ensure participation from all 280 Mandals, coinciding with 272 municipal wards, in south, north and east Delhi.

The tournament will conclude on March 4.
