Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay today welcomed the 'Jan-Dhan Yojna' announced by the Central government and said that the BJP will work to help the common man in getting the benefit of this scheme.

There are 3282 branches of various Banks in Delhi and about 4 lakh people may get benefit of the scheme announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"On the one hand the common man will get the benefits of development by opening saving bank accounts under this scheme and on the other hand the account holders will get accident insurance free of cost, Upadhyay said.

Upadhyay said that just after the formal announcement by the Prime Minister on August 28, the party MPs, legislators, councillors and party office bearers shall go door-to-door and inform the people about the benefits of opening such bank accounts and wherever necessary special camps will be organized at local level in consultation with the Banks.

"It would be our effort to help the neediest person in getting the benefits of this scheme and we shall be able to fulfill the desire of the Prime Minister regarding the development of all through this scheme.

"Through this scheme we shall try to help the poor families living in JJ colonies, unauthorized colonies and rural areas in getting loan," said Upadhyay.
