As a cloud of smog hung in Delhi's air today, a number of Delhi University colleges recorded thin attendance with a majority of students preferring to stay indoors.

Final year student Srivedant Kar said only 15 out of the 50 students in his class turned up.

"Till the air quality becomes normal, I will skip classes as I have breathing issues," he said.

A student of Maitreyi College claimed no one showed up in some classes in off-campus colleges.

A professor of Rajdhani College, Rajesh Jha, said around 30 per cent of the students were absent during his lectures.

Simran Sharma of Daulat Ram College said a few classes were cancelled due to thin attendance.
