A middle-aged businessman allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Northeast Delhi, police said today.
Surinder Verma (36) was found lying in a pool of blood with a bullet-like injury on his head in the bathroom of his house around 9 AM yesterday, they said
"He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. We have recovered a suicide note in which Verma has said that he is ending his life as he was under a lot debt," a police official said.

Verma dealt in artificial jewellery and had incurred heavy losses in his business. He also owed money to his landlord and some other acquaintances.
Police did not find any weapon from the spot while Verma's family has also said that they did not hear any gun shot. Police investigations are underway in this connection.
Investigators are waiting for the postmortem report of the victim to determine the cause of death.
