Delhi businessman kidnapped in UP; Rs 5 lakh ransom demanded

A Delhi-based businessman has allegedly been kidnapped by unidentified persons from Dhampur area in the district and the abductors have demanded Rs 5 lakh as ransom, police said today.

The incident took place last night when Anis was travelling in his car from Amroha to Mirdgan Nathor where his in-laws live, they said.

According to police, Anis called his wife Rehana from a roadside eatery in Dhampur last evening.

After some time, his wife got a call from his phone stating that Anis has been abducted and as a proof the car would be left behind on the Dhampur-Nathor road, police said.
 

His relatives informed police about the incident and the car was impounded, they said.

SP Radheshyam said that there have been no arrest in the case so far and investigations are underway.
