Delhi cabinet approves flyover at Munirka

To ease traffic congestion on various arterial roads in South Delhi, Delhi government today decided to construct a flyover on the portal structure at Munirka at a total cost of Rs 211 crore.

The flyover is being constructed to ease traffic on Rao Tularam Marg and the Outer Ring Road.

The proposal for the project was cleared today at a cabinet meeting presided by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

Officials said the flyover will link Munirka Flyover in the East to the point beyond Army Referral and Research Hospital and in the West on the Outer Ring Road.

They said the flyover wil improve the connectivity to the Airport, Dwarka and Gurgaon.
 

The cabinet also approved construction of a skywalk and an underpass at the junction of B J Marg in South Delhi and a skywalk at an estimated cost of Rs 103 crore.

The cabinet also gave its nod for the second phase of construction of Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, at an estimated cost of 250 crore in Okhla Phase III.
