Delhi Congress today launched the its two-day Jansadhan Sabha, a drive to educate common man on the "ill-effects" of demonetisation, from Babarpur here.
Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said at the launch, "Digital transactions take place at a cost. For instance, I have a receipt for Rs 1,000 for my purchase and another acknowledgement from the bank saying I have paid Rs 1,028."
The Congress has planned 280 similar meetings during the two-day drive which would also see distribution of newsletter containing opinions of senior leaders like those of ex-finance minister P Chidambaram and party vice president Rahul Gandhi.

P C Chacko, the party general secretary and an MP from Thrissur in Kerala, said the demonetisation move would bring down the GDP by 2-3 percentage.
"This is an organised loot which is taking place in the name of demonetisation. It would also bring down the GDP by 2-3 per cent," he said.
