In view of spurt in dengue cases, Delhi Congress today intensified fogging drive in all the 14 districts in the national capital to check the vector-borne disease.
The initiative was carried out under the leadership of DPCC chief Ajay Maken who said the week-long fogging drive was undertaken by them due to the "failure" of the AAP government and the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCDs) to take any preventive steps.
"We had to carry out the fogging drive as a responsible Opposition as both the Delhi government and the three BJP-ruled MCDs have totally failed to check and control dengue," Maken said as he participated in the drive in Jahangirpuri, Narela and Sultanpuri areas.
The Congress leader also accused the MCDs of not carrying out proper de-silting operation of drains before the onset of monsoon which, it said, resulted in water-logging with the first flush of rains.
