The protesters also demanded immediate arrest of the suspects whose names were conveyed to the police by the kin of constable Devender Ahlawat alias Monu.

The blockade started at around 8 am and the protesters staged a sit-in by setting up tents in the middle of the highway. They threatened that the blockade would not be lifted till the suspects are arrested.

Devender was posted at Malviya Nagar police lines in Delhi and had gone missing under mysterious circumstances from the village on August 28 last. His motorbike was recovered from an isolated place near Mokhra village in Rohtak two days after the incident.

Jitender Ahlawat, elder brother of Devender, alleged to mediapersons that the police were not seriously probing the matter, after which the local residents blocked the national highway. (more)
