The Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express had to be halted at a station near Muzaffarnagar today after smoke started emanating from generator van of the train.
According to railway sources, the brake lock of the train overheated leading to the incident. It took around half-an- hour for the authorities to repair.
"Station master at Jaroda Nara station saw smoke coming out of the generator van when the Dehradun-bound train was passing through the station this morning and alerted the driver, who stopped the train," said a railway official, adding after repair the train left for its destination.
