Delhi Environment dept to submit weekly status report

Delhi Environment minister Imran Hussain today said his department will send weekly status reports of important projects and works undertaken in pursuance of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's instruction in this regard.

The Environment secretary will send these reports on a weekly basis to the minister and also to the Lieutenant Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and chief secretary, said a senior government official.

Sisodia has ordered all heads of departments to submit a weekly status report of all important proposals and projects to concerned ministers as well as Lt Governor and Chief Minister.

The reports that will be submitted to Environment minister will include reviews of air pollution control measures, implementation of various orders of National Green Tribunal regarding ban on burning waste material and dry leaves, plastic waste material, among others, the official said.
 

Hussain reviewed the existing ambient air quality of city in a meeting with the senior officials of the department and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, added the officer.
