A Delhi Police Sub Inspector, who had arrested one of the five adult accused in the December 16 gangrape of a 23-year-old girl in a moving bus here, today deposed in a fast-track court.
Inspector Upender, who had arrested the sixth absconding accused Akshay Singh from Aurangabad in Bihar on December 21, last year has recorded his statement as a prosecution witness in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna trying the case behind closed doors.
The Delhi police on December 18, 2012 had arrested the bus driver Ram Singh, in which the assault took place, his brother Mukesh, Vinay Sharma and Pawan Gupta. The fifth one, who was a juvenile was also arrested later on.

With the proceedings against the main accused Ram Singh having abated after his death on March 11, the remaining four adult accused Mukesh, Vinay, Akshay and Pawan are facing trial in the case for rape and murder of the girl. The sixth is a juvenile, so he is facing proceedings before the Juvenile Justice Board.
The girl had died on December 29, 2012 in a Singapore hospital due to the grievous injuries she suffered when she was brutally assaulted by the six accused.
