Delhi Golf Club Membership of over 20 people cancelled

The Urban Development Ministry has cancelled the membership of more than 20 serving and retired bureaucrats of the Delhi Golf Club.

There were violation of rules in giving Golf Club membership to these officials during the previous UPA rule and that's why these memberships were cancelled, according to a senior Urban Development Ministry official.

The premier Golf Club in the country is situated in the heart of the city has a long list of membership in waiting. Currently, the waiting period is more than 30 years for becoming a member of the prestigious club.

However, the Urban Development Ministry, being the custodian of the club, is empowered to jump the queue and make any official a member.
 

The official said membership of 27 serving and retired bureaucrats has been cancelled.
