Pegging the total budget estimate at Rs 33,436 crore, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit while presenting the budget said Rs 15,000 crore has been set aside for plan expenditure, while the total non plan expenditure has been proposed at Rs 18,268 crore.
94 per cent of the total expenditure will come from Delhi government's own resources, while six per cent will come as grant from the Centre.
Talking about tax revenue, Dikshit said government expects to collect Rs 17,000 crore from VAT, Rs 4,300 crore from stamps and registration fees, Rs 3,000 crore from excise tax, Rs 1,370 crore from taxes on motor vehicles and Rs 480 crore from luxury tax, entertainment tax and betting tax.
"The proposed budget of Rs 33,436 crore will be funded out of tax revenues of Rs 26,150 crore, non-tax revenue of Rs 726 crore, capital receipt of Rs 728 crore, grant in aid from the Centre of Rs 1928 crore and Rs 3,904 crore from the opening balance of the current year," Dikshit said.
The Chief Minister said the outstanding loan which was Rs 30,140 crore as on March 31, 2011 has been reduced to Rs 29,608 crore as on March 31, 2012.
The fiscal deficit has been pegged at Rs 2,604 crore for the year 2012-13 against Rs 3,177 crore in 2011-12.
