Delhi govt conducts surprise inspections

Delhi government today conducted surprise inspections at 12 sub-registrar offices to check functioning of electronic gadgets across the national capital.

According to government official, during inspection, two sub-registrar offices - Pitampura and Rohini were found non-functional of CCTV cameras.

An official of the Revenue Department said that show cause notices have been issued to these sub-registrar offices to explain about non-functioning of the CCTV cameras.

Gyanesh Bharti, secretary (Revenue), said that department conducted inspections in Kapashera, Janakpuri, Mehrauli, Hauz Khas, Rohini, Pitampura, Narela, Geeta Colony, Preet Vihar, Nand Nagri, Seelampur and Vivek Vihar to check the functioning and efficient disposal of services.
 

Bharti has asked all SR offices to be more cautious and such discrepancies will be viewed seriously in future.

He said that the department has established facilitation counters at the e-Sub Registrar Offices in a bid to completely eliminate the menace of touts and middlemen by making the entire registration process transparent and accessible.
