Delhi govt initiates review of goals set under outcome budget

The Delhi government today initiated the process of reviewing the progress with regard to the goals set under its first ever Outcome Budget.

On the first day of the review, senior officials of the health department made a representation on various plans and schemes before Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia.

Though the process is scheduled to be held from July 19 to July 21, a government official said it may extend till the end of the month.

"The chief minister and deputy chief minister today reviewed the progress with regard to the goals set for the health department," he added.
 

While presenting the budget for 2017-18 in March, Sisodia had said the Delhi government would be the first in the country to adopt such a practice.

"Let's say if Rs 20 lakh is spent on building a mohalla clinic, the government then monitors whether it is built or not. This is budget accountability. But, under the Outcome Budget, we will also monitor how many people were benefited after the clinic started operating. This will be done every quarter," he had said.
