Delhi Government has started a school survey to identify the reforms needed in the present system, in the backdrop of its recent proposal for a separate Education Board and syllabus for its 722 schools in the city.

Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia today appealed the people to participate in the survey so that better education can be provided to the children.

"When citizens join hands with govt, spectacular results follow. Delhi Education dept brings such an opportunity of mutual participation (sic)," he tweeted referring to the survey.

The official Facebook page of the education survey campaign by Delhi Education department mentioned its objective of getting feedback on the existing education system in 722 government schools of Delhi by calling 1.37 lakh students who passed class 12 in 2014.

The page will serve as a proper communication channel with callers of the survey project.

According to a senior official, the project has well designed objective questions on different aspects of the schools which will help the Education Minister prioritise his area of attention and will also lay a proper picture to assist in policy making.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 10 days.

"This is a very important task for our future generation. Our focus for the this campaign is collecting feedback from students to understand their need," a Team Education Survey Project member said.
