Delhi govt sets up committee to look into advertisement

The Arvind Kejriwal dispensation has formed a three-member committee to look into complaints which surface from time to time while implementing Supreme Court guidelines on Content Regulation of Government Advertising.

The committee, set up in compliance with a Supreme Court order and request from Information and Broadcasting Ministry's in this regard, has Om Thanvi as its chairperson and Shailesh Kumar and Jagjeet Singh Deswal are the members.

According to an official statement, the government has also nominated Special Director (Directorate of Information and Publicity) as member secretary of the committee to facilitate its day-to-day functioning.

The apex court had on May 13, 2015 had ordered to constitute the body for "ironing out creases that are bound to show from time to time in implementation of the Supreme Court guidelines on Content Regulation of Government Advertising".
 

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry too had on May 23 this year requested the Delhi Government to form the committee.
