Delhi government today said that students pursuing distance education from its open-learning schools, can attend regular classes.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also holds the education portfolio, said the government will give these students school uniforms, scholarship, reading material and sports facility, which a regular school student is availing.
"Students who failed twice or thrice usually move towards distance learning education, but they don't get quality education. We will ask distance learning students to attend regular classes from Monday to Saturday with regular students," he told reporters here.

"We will give distance learning students uniform, scholarship, reading materials, sports facilities and others as a regular school student is availing," he said.
Sisodia said if a student fails class IX twice, government will offer the student to take admission to other school as most students feel stigma and then, leave schools after making unsuccessful attempts to pass examination.
On being asked about sufficient space in schools, he said the government is constructing more classrooms and ensured that there will be no shortage of space.
