Delhi HC gets a new judge

The Delhi High Court today improved its strength of judges by one as Justice Ashutosh Kumar, Additional Judge, was transferred from the Patna High Court.

Justice Jaishree Thakur (53), an Additional Judge in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, has been transferred to the Rajasthan High Court.

A statement from the Law Ministry said Additional Judge Justice Kumar (48) has been transferred from the Patna High Court to the Delhi High Court in the same capacity.

With his transfer, the strength in the Delhi High Court has gone up to 41. The Delhi High Court still faces a shortage of 19 judges.
 

The two judges have been directed to assume charge of their new offices on or before January 6, 2015, the statement said.
