Delhi HC gets eight new judges, swearing-in ceremony tomorrow

With the appointment of five practising lawyers from the bar, the Delhi High Court will get eight new additional judges tomorrow.

The remaining three judges, including the sitting Registrar General of the high court, have been elevated from trial courts.

Chief Justice D Murugesan will tomorrow administer the oath of office to the eight new judges.

Delhi Government Standing Counsel (Civil) Najmi Waziri and four others-V K Rao, Sanjeev Sachdeva, Jayant Nath and Vibhu Bakhru are from the high court bar.

District Judges from Tis Hazari and Dwaraka court- Sunita Gupta and Deepa Sharma respectively besides, high court Registrar General V P Vaish have been elevated to the high court.
 

With the appointment of these new judges, the strength will increase to 43 as against the sanctioned number of 48.
