The city today reeled under intense heat as the maximum temperature soared to 43.4 degree Celsius, three notches above normal.
According to MeT department, the day temperature may touch 44 degree Celsius tomorrow which would breach the record of this season's highest 43.7 degree which was recorded on May 29.
In contrast to the maximum temperature, minimum temperature remained two points below normal at 26 degree Celsius.
Humidity oscillated between 21 and 65 per cent during the day.
The maximum and minimum temperatures registered yesterday were 41.7 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal and 26.5 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.
