Pitiable condition of the national highway that connects Delhi and Jaipur was raised in the Rajya Sabha today with a BJP member stating that it took up to 10 hours to cover the stretch against three hours earlier.
"It is taking 8-10 hours to cover the distance now against just three hours earlier," Chandan Mitra (BJP) said during the Zero Hour, squarely blaming National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the "chaotic situation".
"I have failed to understand why it takes so long to construct and upgrade highways," he said, adding that work should be started only after getting all the clearances.
