Amid a row over appointment of Delhi's Acting Chief Secretary, Lt Governor Najeeb Jung has briefed the Home Ministry, which is directly responsible for the capital's administration, even as Union Home Secretary L C Goyal said his ministry has nothing to do with the issue.
Official sources said the LG has informally briefed the Home Ministry about the situation arising out of Gamlin's appointment.
The Ministry, sources said, advised Jung to act as per the Constitution.

"The Home Ministry has nothing to do with it. The Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister are competent enough to handle the situation," Goyal told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.
Goyal was asked to comment on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's objection to the appointment of Gamlin by Jung as acting Chief Secretary.
Jung is at loggerheads with Kejriwal over the appointment of Gamlin as acting Chief Secretary with the Chief Minister having opposed the LG's action.
The Kejriwal government has attacked BJP accusing it of attempting to stage a coup through the LG.
Kejriwal has sought a meeting with President Pranab Mukherjee over the issue.
