Delhi per capita income for FY16 likely to be Rs 2.8 lakh

The economy of the national capital is going forward on the path of sustainable growth in a considerable manner

The per capita income of Delhi is expected to be Rs 2.8 lakh in the current financial year against Rs 2.5 lakh during 2014-15, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday said.

According to 'Estimates of State Domestic Product - 2015-16', the per capita income of the national capital has been fast increasing year-by-year and it is expected to be Rs 2,80,142 for the year 2015-16 against Rs 2,52,011 during 2014-15.

"Among all states and UTs, Delhi's rank is second. In comparison to the neighboring states, the per capita income in Haryana is Rs 1.50 lakh and for Punjab it is Rs 1.15 lakh in 2014-15.The per capita income of Delhi is about three times higher than the national average of Rs 93,231 for 2015-16," Sisodia said.
 

He also said the economy of the national capital is going forward on the path of sustainable growth in a considerable manner.

He said rank-wise position of Delhi as per the estimates of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is much better than other states such as Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana and Odisha.

According to the minister, GSDP in Delhi at the current prices for the year 2015-16 is estimated at Rs 5,58,745 crore against Rs 4,94,460 crore in 2014-15, registering a growth of 13 per cent.
