A Delhi Police ACP has been accused of rape by his daughter-in-law, police said today.

According to police, the violation took place in May last year when the accused ACP was posted in the northern range of Delhi Police.

An FIR, filed on Jan. 23 this year, was registered against the ACP at south Delhi's Vasant Kunj police station on the basis of the victim's complaint.

The South DCP remained tight-lipped about the case with the accused yet to be arrested over the allegation, said a police official.

Police said that the complainant had married the ACP's son in January last year and, thereafter, started living with her husband and in-laws at their Vasant Kunj residence.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly raped the woman when they were alone at home and threatened her with dire consequences if she spoke to anybody about the matter.

The woman, who went to Australia after the incident, registered a case against the accused after her return to India.
