Thirty personnel, of sub inspectors and constables ranks of Delhi Police, are working with Goa Police to provide security to VVIPs and other dignitaries at the ongoing BRICS-BIMSTEC summit.

"It's for the first time that Goa is hosting such a big event. Since I have been Joint Commissioner of Police, Prime Minister Security, I know their expertise in handling security arrangements. We sought the help of Delhi Police for supplementing our security arrangements," Goa DGP Muktesh Chander told PTI.

Chander had earlier served in Delhi Police as Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) and as Joint Commissioner of Police, Prime Minister Security.

Coincidentally, TN Mohan, currently the Special Commissioner of Police (Security), Delhi earlier served as Goa DGP.

Five personnel each have been posted at separate venues of the summit, said a senior police officer adding that the Delhi Police personnel are adept in handling close proximity security of VVIPs.
