Delhi Police today claimed to have averted a certain bloodbath in Rohini Court with the arrest of ten men and recovery of six pistols from them as they had allegedly reached the complex to eliminate another criminal of a rival gang during his hearing here this morning.

According to police, the ten men, part of the Neeraj Bawana-Naveen Baali gang, had come to District Court, Rohini to eliminate Pradeep alias Bhola, a key member of the Neetu Dabodia gang, which is currently led by Paras alias Goldy (absconding) and Rajesh alias Durmut after Dabodia was killed by police in a shootout last year.

"Interestingly, the chosen assassin of the ten men is a newbie of just 23 year identified as Vikas Dabas alias Fauji who had come dressed in an advocate's attire and was carrying two 'case files' with him to evade checking and frisking," said Special Commissioner (Special Cell) S N Shrivastava.

He was carrying two sophisticated pistols which were intended to be used to shoot Pradeep, who also had by that time, arrived from the Rohini Jail and was in the transit Court Complex Lock-up, awaiting his call from the concerned Sessions' Court, he said.

"Dabas had even managed to enter the court complex concealing the two pistols but an alert policemen recognised him at the first floor of the court building and swiftly neutralized him," he said.

His other nine associates, who had reached the court in three cars, a Maruti 800, a Maruti Swift and Tata Safari through different routes, were also arrested by teams of the Special Cell which were deployed at strategic locations in and around the court complex.
