Delhi police constable arrested for molesting woman

A 45-year-old Delhi Police constable allegedly molested his woman neighbour in New Defence Colony of Muradnagar area here, following which he was arrested, police said today.

The accused, working at Bhajanpura police station of Delhi, was identified as Jagdish Arya, who lives with his family in Muradnagar area, police said.

The incident took place late last night when Jagdish entered the woman's house and molested her.

"There was a fight between the constable and the woman and her family last evening over a small issue. To take revenge, Jagdish entered woman's house and allegedly molested her," said a senior police officer.
 

The officer also said that the woman alleged in her complaint that when she resisted, he suddenly opened fire in the air with his service revolver to threaten her.

A section of attempt to murder was also imposed on the accused constable.

"Based on the woman's complaint, a case under Section 354, 452 and 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against Jagdish Arya at Muradnagar police station. Police have arrested him soon after the incident and further investigation is on," officer added.
