The son of a Delhi Police Inspector was allegedly shot at by a man in outer Delhi's Begumpur area, police said today.

21-year-old Manchi, son of Inspector Rajpal Dabas, received a bullet injury on his right arm, a senior police officer said.

The incident took place in the intervening night of yesterday and today when Manchi was parking his SUV outside his home in Sector 24, police said.

"Manchi complained that an unknown person came near his SUV and knocked on the windowpane asking for direction to Sector 22 Rohini.

The victim did not roll down his windowpane and instead showed the way through hand gestures. After this, the person fired at him and fled from the spot," the senior police officer said.

Police is investigating the matter from all the angles.
