Delhi Police issues traffic advisory

Traffic Police have issued an advisory asking commuters to avoid Sardar Patel Marg, Dhaula Kuan and Ashoka Road as they would be closed for intermittent periods throughout the day tomorrow.

The advisory was issued to 'facilitate safe and smooth movement' of VIP carcades which would be moving through those areas.

"Motorists are requested to avoid Dhaula Kuan, Sardar Patel Marg and Ashoka Road for hassle free journey. Motorists are also advised to make maximum use of public transport system, especially Delhi Metro," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Shukla.

"Motorists coming on NH-8 from Dwarka/Gurgaon etc. And destined to New Delhi and beyond areas are requested to take Rao Tula Ram Marg - Moti Bagh Crossing - Shanti Path for their journey," the advisory stated.
 

Motorists headed from New Delhi to Ring Road may take San Martin Marg while motorists going from New Delhi towards NH-8 and vice-versa can also use Upper Ridge Road for journey, Shukla said.

Motorists moving on Panchsheel Marg and using Sardar Patel Marg may turn left / right on San Martin Marg for road movement, he added.

The advisory also stated that Abai Marg, Manas Marg and Battle Honours Mess Marg would be closed for movement of vehicles. However, vehicles of bonafide residents would be allowed.

"For other movements of the VVIP, adequate staff shall be deployed on route which shall guide & direct the motorists and effect proper traffic diversions" Shukla said.
