Delhi Police in a joint operation with the city government and Gurgaon district administration raided an ultrasound clinic in west Delhi's Uttam Nagar and arrested four persons, including a doctor, for allegedly conducting sex determination tests.

The accused have been identified as Neeraj, a doctor, his associates Sandeep Kumar, Durgesh Singh and Om Prakash.

Police have also recovered an ultrasound machine from the centre and lodged an FIR at the Uttam Nagar police station under relevant sections of the IPC.

The joint operation team busted the racket by planting a decoy and conducting a sting operation.

The accused demanded Rs 10,000 from the decoy and took her to their clinic where a doctor conducted an ultrasound on the patient, a police official said.

They did not make any entry in the register, nor did they make the decoy (posing as a genuine patient) to fill up any form, he added.

The accused were arrested by the police team, who were kept in loop, and booked under relevant sections of the law, said the official, adding that the cops are now verifying how many sex determination tests did the accused persons allegedly conduct on a regular basis.

DCP (West) Pushpendra Kumar could not be reached for comments even after several attempts.
