Delhi Police sub-inspector arrested for taking bribe

A Delhi Police sub-inspector was today arrested by CBI sleuths for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh to protect a "suspect" in a case.

Sub-Inspector Tulsiram, posted at Shalimar Bagh police station, had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs five lakh for protecting a "suspect" in a case of violence against domestic help, CBI sources said.

After negotiations, he had agreed on a sum of Rs 2.5 lakh.

CBI laid a trap and arrested him while accepting the bribe, they said.
