Delhi Police top brass take part in Yoga Day celebrations

The top brass of the Delhi Police, including commissioner Amulya Patnaik, and its over 9,000 personnel took part in the Yoga Day celebrations here today.

The Delhi Police organised yoga camps at 11 venues across police districts in the city.

Patnaik took part in the camp held at Ramlila Maidan here which saw the participation of personnel from the Crime Branch, Economic Offences Wing and Special Branch and Central district.

The participants included special commissioners, joint commissioners, deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and station house officers.

The hour-long yoga sessions were organised between 7 am and 8 am.

The Delhi Police personnel were motivated to practise yoga in order to deal with stress and fatigue, said Madhur Verma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) and PRO of the Delhi Police.
 

"Our personnel should imbibe this culture in their daily routine so as to keep themselves mentally and physically fit to face difficult situations. Yoga can help our personnel gain strength and remain calm while offering their services," he added.
