Delhi Police today organised a meeting of top police officials of the neighbouring states to ensure better coordination between the forces during the upcoming Assembly polls.
The meeting, which was held here at the police headquarters, was chaired by Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi and attended by top police officials from Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, police said.
"The objective of the meeting was, inter alia, to evolve strategy for peaceful conduct of the forthcoming Assembly polls in Delhi," said a senior police official.

The officials also discussed ways to ensure joint checking of vehicles at border check posts.
"Intelligence inputs about various terrorist outfits were also discussed between officials. The need for checking of guest houses, cyber cafe users, contract labourers, shops selling explosives and chemicals were stressed and information on interstate criminals and their modus operandi were also shared," the official said.
A request was also made for informing timely movements of VVIPs and protected persons to Delhi for ensuring necessary security arrangements during the polls.
It was decided that Additional Commissioners of Police and Deputy Commissioners of Police of border districts will also hold meetings with their counterparts of neighbouring states in the coming days, police said.
