Delhi receives scattered rains

It was a muggy day in the national capital today, with scattered rains lashing the city and day temperature settling below 35 degrees Celsius.

According to MeT department officials, Palam observatory recorded 6.6-mm rainfall and Ayanagar 0.6-mm.

Areas under Safdarjung, Lodhi Road, Ridge observatories, however, remained dry.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 34.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal, while the minimum settled at 26.0 degrees, also a notch above the season's average.

The humidity levels oscillated between 87 and 52 per cent during the day.

The weatherman has predicted overcast conditions and light rainfall for tomorrow.

"The sky will be partly cloudy. Very light rain and thundershowers could occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 35 and 26 degrees, respectively," the MeT office said.
