Delhi's economy grew at 8.34 pc: Baijal

The economy of Delhi grew at 8.34 per cent in 2015-16 while the per capita income was three times above the national level, Lt Governor Anil Baijal said today.

The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Delhi at current prices increased from Rs 4,94,460 crore in 2014-15 to Rs 5,58,745 crore in 2015-16 registering a growth of 13 per cent, he said addressing the Budget session of the Delhi Assembly.

Sharing the figures, he underlined that the welfare activities of the government are "pivoted" on a strong economy.

"In real terms at constant prices, Delhi's economy grew at the rate of 8.34 per cent during 2015-16 as compared to 7.6 per cent growth at the national level.
 

"The per capita income in Delhi at current prices in 2015-16 is Rs 2,80,142 as per advance estimates of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), which is 3 times higher than the per capita income of Rs 93,293 at national level," he said.
