Delhi sizzles as mercury touches high of 43.2

Delhiites reeled under a scorching 43.2 degrees Celsius today which was the highest temperature for the season and it is likely to get worse in coming days.

The day temperature was four notches above normal while the minimum temperature at 24.8 degrees Celsius remained one degree below normal, a Meteorological Department official said.

It was hot in the national capital since late morning and there was no respite from the sweltering heat as humidity oscillated between 67 per cent and 16 per cent.

Weather predictions suggest that temperatures will rise in the coming days.

The weathermen have predicted a clear sky for tomorrow and the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain at 43 and 26 degree Celsius respectively.
