Delhi student Tejswin fast progressing as athlete

Tejaswin Shankar, a school student, narrowly missed the high jump meet record en route to his gold medal feat at the Inter Zone Delhi athletics Championships, here.

Tejaswin, a class IX student of Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, cleared a height of 1.87m, missing the meet mark of 1.91m just by a whisker.

Following his stupendous performance, Tejaswin was selected to represent Delhi at the inter-school national championship in Ranchi, where he won a bronze with the effort of 1.86m.

At the CBSE National Athletics championships his performance dipped a but a jump of 1.75m was enough for him to secure a gold medal in cluster-12 high jump event.
 

He was also selected for CBSE Nationals in Varanasi where he again won the gold medal by clearing a height of 1.84m by defeating amateur junior national bronze medal winner from Kerala.
