Delhi Technological University increases BTech seats by 15 pc

Delhi Technological University has enhanced intake in its BTech Programmes by 15 per cent from the upcoming academic session.

"The university has added 221 seats to its Computer Engineering programme and 25 seats have been increased in the Information Technology discipline," an official statement said.

"Over and above 12 seats have been added for NRI/ PIO quota through direct admission of students abroad (DASA)," it added.

The decision was taken by the varsity's Board of Management (BoM) recently.

Formerly known as Delhi College of Engineering, DTU upgraded to a varsity in 2009.

It has a student strength of 1622 students presently enrolled in over 15 disciplines in BTech programme and MTech Programme in 22 disciplines with total strength of 608.
 

The disciplines on offer at the varsity include Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, Automobile Engineering, Polymer Science and Chemical Technology, Production and Industrial Engineering, Bio-Technology, Environmental Engineering and Engineering Physics.
