Delhiites can savour a milieu of country's folk music and dance as more than two dozen artistes of some of the traditional genres will perform in the national capital for the next two days.
The cultural dance and song festival called 'SwarRajya' will see artistes, singers and dancers in beautiful and colourful attires performing various dance forms belted out in India's hinterland.
While there will be 'Seraikella Chhau' from Odisha, the troupe from Rajasthan will perform the renowned 'Kalbelia' and 'Chari' dance.
Artistes will also perform 'Gondu' or Gusadi' dance from Andhra Pradesh and 'Dollu Kunitha' folk dance from Karnataka.
The Tetseo sisters, the all-women singer troupe from Nagaland, will present folk music of their state including their unique composition called 'Li'.
Gujarat's 'Garba' and 'Raas' will also be a part of this dance and music festival which will be held during evening hours at the Siri Fort Auditorium here on April 18-19.
A rock band that twines Kabir's poetry with Reggae and Carnatic fusion music promises the audience to mesmerise them with a cherished musical evening.
'Gedhi' Lok Nritya by tribals in Chhattisgarh, performed here few years back, will again enthrall the Delhi audience.
"Each day of the festival will showcase the folk music and dances of a particular area of the country. The artistes will perform on live, as well as recorded music, with elaborate and beautiful costumes and the complete set design as required for such performances," 'SwarRajya' organiser Sumit Kain said.
