Delhi tourism to organise 'Dilli Haat Utsav'

Delhi tourism department will organise 'Dilli Haat Utsav' at INA, Janakpuri and Pitampura haats during the upcoming festival weekend where several special cultural programmes will be held.

According to the department, the festive season has been an accelerator in driving people to their nearest Dilli Haat and enjoy cultural presentations full of entertainment.

"At Delhi Haat (INA)on October 18, cultural programme organised by Sahitya Kala Parishad through Pratibha Kala Kendra will present dance performances dedicated to Lord Krishna. On the same day, Sanskrit Academy will also be hosting a delightful evening full of devotional and patriotic songs by Sukriti & Aviral Mathur Group at Dilli Haat (Pitampura)," said a senior official of the department.
 

The official also said that on October 19, Sahitya Kala Parishad through Ravinder Kaur will be presenting Punjabi dances -- Bhangra and Gidda -- at Dilli Haat (INA) while at Dilli Haat (Pitampura), Ganesh Natya Vidyalaya will be hosting Bharatnatyam dance, which will be performed by the students of Padma Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan on same day.

He said that at Dilli Haat (Janak Puri), a special Diwali festival will be organised from October 20 to October 22 during which special handcraft products will be available at the artisan stalls to mark the celebration of festival of lights, Diwali.

Besides, all the cultural entertainment, visitors at Dilli Haats have an option to shop to the fullest from a wide range of specially handcrafted products at authentic artisan stalls.

Apart from this programmes, Dilli Haat (INA) is also organising 'Deep Utsav', which will continue till October 23 wherin celebratory and handmade products such as candles, earthen lamps, pooja thaali, God idols and other terracotta merchandise are available.
