In a twist to the case of alleged abduction and rape of a Polish woman on the Mathura-Delhi highway last week, UP Police has decided to transfer the case back to Delhi, saying mobile phone location of the victim at the time offence was found to in the national capital.
Delhi Police had registered a zero FIR at Paharganj police station after medical examination of the woman confirmed rape. The complaint was later transferred to Mathura.
"Our investigations have revealed that her statements are not corroborating with the circumstantial evidence. Hence, the case will be transferred back to the Delhi police," said Additional SP (Mathura City) Omveer Singh.

She claimed that she was on her way to Delhi along with her two-year-old-daughter from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.
"The cab driver sprayed something on her face following which she fell unconscious and later when she came to her senses, she found herself on a bench outside the Nizammuddin railway station in South Delhi where she realised that she has been sexually assaulted. Her daughter near her was crying," she said in her complaint.
However, Mathura Police's investigation revealed that on January 1, the woman took a bus along with her daughter and a man and reached Delhi in the evening.
The driver and conductor of the bus in their statements have confirmed this point.
"The mobile location of the woman is also found to be in Delhi on the midnight of January 2. But one catch in the case is that her medical report confirms rape. As her location at the time of offence is found to be in Delhi, we are transferring the case back to Delhi," said a Mathura Police official.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Alok Kumar, under whose jurisdiction Paharganj police station falls, said that they have not received any official communication in this regard so far.
