Participating in the deliberations, Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan suggested aligning Vision Document-2030 with State Vision Document-2036.
The Odisha government on its own has initiated the Vision 2036 keeping in view completion of the 100th year of the state's formation, the statement added.
Planning and Convergence Department would be the nodal
department for the exercise, it said, adding the SDG cells would be set up in each department by the first week of July.
Focus areas like poverty eradication, sustainable production and consumption, health and well-being, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, clean energy, social peace and justice, climate change action, economic growth, industry, innovation, infrastructure, sustainable cities and communities, among others, were identified for inclusion in the Vision Document-2030.
These goals have been clustered to seven broad categories and seven thematic working groups were constituted to look into them, the statement said.
The thematic working groups would develop the roadmap for SDG implementation in the state. Experts from private sector, civil society, academicians and technical experts would be involved in the process to bring in innovative perspectives.
"The thematic working groups will submit their suggestions within two months, which will be put up to the government for consideration before onward transmission to NITI Aayog," Padhi told reporters.
