Demand for memorial for martyrs of Ghadar revolution in RS

A demand was raised in the Rajya Sabha today for creation of a memorial for 18 martyrs of the Ghadar party, who sacrificed their lives for Independence of the country, on completion of centenary of Ghadar revolution.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Ritabrata Banerjee (Trinamool) said the Ghadar Party played a significant role in India's independence from British rule and its importance can be understood from the fact that even martyrs like Bhagat Singh kept photographs of its leaders like Kartar Singh Sarabha.

Gundu Sudharani (TDP) raised the plight of workers in a factory in Warangal saying livelihood of up to 10,000 persons was at statke due to lack of proper marketing of pulp and sought government's intervention to address the situation.
 

Raising the issue of destruction caused to agriculture land through chemicals and hazardous materials, Vijay Darda (Cong) demanded that the government should come out with a data as to how much land has been impacted and turned barren due to release of effluents and chemicals from plants and industries in rivers and waters etc.

K P Ramalingam (TDP) sought subsidy for paddy seeds in Tamil Nadu.

Anand Bhaskar Rapolu (Cong) demanded a plan to combat possible spread of Ebola epidemic in the country.
