Singer Demi Lovato is slated to star in at least six episodes in the fifth season of musical dramedy series "Glee".
The former Disney starlet, will play Dani, a NYC-based struggling artist friend of Rachel and Santana's. She will interact with Adam Lambert's character, which is still kept secret, and the two will appear in several musical numbers together, reported Aceshowbiz.
Naya Rivera, who plays Santana, seemingly confirms the news as tweeting, "So excited for @ddlovato to join our cast! Wonder what we'll get up to in NYC!"
Lambert also couldn't hide his excitement to work alongside Lovato, writing on his own Twitter account, "I just heard the news! Excited to sing with you girl!"
The gig will mark Lovato's first major acting role since her Disney Channel series "Sonny With a Chance" ended its run in January 2011.
"Glee" will return with its fifth season on FOX. The show will dedicate the third episode of the season to the late Cory Monteith and later take a hiatus.
