Moore was devastated after she split form husband of six years Ashton Kutcher amid claims that he cheated on her.
Since then she has been unable to get her life back on track and was seen partying in nightclubs with a young showbiz crowd including Zac Efron, reported Sun Online.
Moore is said to be taking advice from Michael Jackson's former spiritual guru Deepak Chopra and a supernatural healer in Mexico who she is convinced can save her.
"Demi is desperate and will try anything to be happy again. Since she split from Ashton, she has been a shadow of her former self. It's now been more than a year since he was caught cheating and she is still finding life very tough.
"She started seeing a spiritual healer from Mexico who has been trying to help her get over the heartbreak and suffering. She's been flying her into LA for meetings and it's already costing her a fortune. She's now thinking of moving her from Mexico to Los Angeles so she can see her at all times," a source said.
Meanwhile, Kutcher has clearly moved on from their six-year marriage and is dating actress Mila Kunis.
